07 th Dec TRAC Gets Gold!
TRAC’s healthy good practices and wellbeing initiatives in the workplace has seen them awarded a Gold in the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Workplace Health Award Programme. A highly prestigious programme, it achieved approval at national level through the Health and Wellbeing Awards, run by the Royal Society for Public Health.
TRAC’s workplace was assessed against several criteria in which they excelled, with near perfect scores against the ‘Physical Activity including Active Travel’ as well as the ‘Mental Wellbeing and Stress Reduction’ categories. The award assessors gave TRAC special praise for adoption of initiatives such as their ‘interactive tea break’ where members of the TRAC team regularly deliver facts and quizzes to their colleagues on health related topics such as dementia and diabetes.

Sarah Trethowan, TRAC Director explains:
“…We’re delighted with this Gold Award for our healthy workplace programme. We have a happier, healthier more productive team which we see through our low annual sickness levels of 1.6 days per employee per year, compared to 6.8 days which is the average for the private sector…”
The aim of the award is to act as a toolkit to encourage employers to think about ways to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees whilst enabling organisations to focus on the current good practice in place as well as recognise and improve priority areas.
Just as the Workplace Health Award assessor reported to TRAC:
“…It was clear the workplace health team have done an amazing job over the past year. A fantastic team effort – well done to all at TRAC Services…”
