TRAC Team Sport Santa Suits for Charity Run

6th December 2010

Members of the TRAC Team travelled to Padstow at the weekend to take part in the Santa Fun Run in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.  The festive-themed run had participants wearing Santa Suits (Santa hats for children) with the option of running one or two miles for the local charity.  The team, known as ‘Santa’s Rundeers’, had a pre-run warm up with BBC Cornwall’s James Churchfield, along with over a hundred other Santas, and crossed the finish line to the welcome smell of mince pies and a warm drink.

“The heavy rain didn’t dampen the mood, there was a fantastic atmosphere on the day and the team was brilliant.  It was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit, and we’re delighted to have raised over £200 towards adult hospice care in the county”, said Company Director Jonathan Trethowan.

Cornwall Hospice Care is an independent Cornish charity which needs to raise over £5 million a year to support its services.  It relies heavily on the general public for support with more than 80% of its income met from voluntary contributions.

Santa’s Rundeers consisted of Mike May, Shilpa Jain, Graham Donaldson, Matthew Walker, Jonathan Trethowan, Kieran Trethowan, Natalie Grogan, Neil Hann, Mitchell Hann, Erin Hann & Alistair Hann.

You can see coverage of the Padstow run on the BBC website here, three of the team have been captured in the crowd!
