TRAC Gives Local Charity Printing Power!

18th August 2010

Thanks to TRAC, local charity Treyla are now enjoying better printing facilities at their site in Penzance.   TRAC donated an office printer after a recent upgrade at their offices in Camborne.  “We wanted to find a good home for our existing printer and placed an advertisement on the Network Cornwall website; Treyla is such a worthwhile cause and we are delighted that it will be put to good use,” said Jonathan Trethowan, Company Director.

Treyla works with some of the most hard to reach children and young people at risk of social exclusion across West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  It provides and operates several projects and services aimed at developing skills, knowledge, attitudes and motivation to encourage positive healthy life choices and behaviours.

Louise Osbourne, Strategic and Business Manager at Treyla said “We are incredibly grateful to TRAC.  We rely on grants and donations to continue the work we do and it can be particularly difficult to find funding for essential office equipment.  The timing could not have been better too as the summer holidays are our busiest time.”

TRAC regularly supports local charities and community groups.  As a member of the Cornwall Community Foundation, it’s committed to supporting local projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.   It also raises funds as part of its Patient Information Leaflet project that donates to local charities and groups in return for 30 minutes of volunteers’ time to participate in a question and answer session.

What’s more, members of the TRAC team are currently training to take part in Shelterbox’s Dartmoor Challenge in September to raise much needed funds for the international disaster relief charity.  The team also have an 80ft cliff face abseil planned for October to support four local charities.

“We’re passionate about getting involved in projects and initiatives that give something back to the county we all live and work in, and enjoy achieving some personal challenges along the way!” said Jonathan.
