TRAC attends Royal Opening!
9th August 2010
HRH the Duke of Kent unveiled the ceremonial plaque at the £12m Pool Innovation Centre (PIC) in front of an audience of key people from the business community, new tenants of the centre and local suppliers. The University of Plymouth is managing the revolutionary business centre - the first of its kind in the county – on behalf of Cornwall Council. The centre was backed by £9 million of ERDF Convergence investment and almost £3 million from the South West RDA. The building has been designed to provide flexible accommodation with units ranging in size from 25m² to 90m². To help tenant circulation and networking, all central services including reception, meeting rooms, conference facilities, toilets and kitchens will be shared. Sarah has been a committed member of the PIC Strategy Group and attended the opening ceremony in her role as a non executive Director for the Camborne Pool Redruth (CPR) Urban Regeneration Company. "PIC will provide a nurturing environment for local businesses to thrive in, encouraging shared knowledge and support to grow together. I hope it will act as a beacon for regeneration in the area creating prosperity and well-paid jobs." Sarah said during Monday’s ceremony. TRAC exhibited at the centre’s opening on Monday as one of a number of case studies of successful local businesses who have benefited from support and investment provided by Covergence funding. Marketing Manager, Natalie Grogan, said "Sarah knows firsthand the challenges small local businesses face and is passionate about ensuring that they receive the right type of support at the right time to help them develop." TRAC is currently working with 3WhiteHats.com, a digital marketing company set up by Tom Telford, one of the first businesses to take up residence at the centre.
