TRAC Services At The Forefront Of Unlocking Cornish Potential

TRAC Services’ campaign to tap into the sharpest graduate minds in the region and develop them within the Regulatory Affairs world has been highly praised at an event to celebrate graduate training in Cornwall.

After finding it difficult to find the right level of Regulatory Affairs specialists when it needed to grow its team further, over two years ago, TRAC Services decided to take matters into its own hands – by tapping into the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) Programme.

The Programme aims to combine talented young graduates with progressive Cornish companies through the implementation of business development projects.

For TRAC it meant they could identify and bring in highly talented graduates to the team and give them the training, knowledge and support to grow their experience and expertise.

The company is now at the forefront of this groundbreaking project and has in the past 30 months taken on and developed 6 UCP graduates within the Regulatory Affairs sector.

Company director Sarah Trethowan was invited to speak at the UCP Celebration Event to explain how the project had benefited the business.

“Given that Cornwall is not a traditional base for Regulatory Affairs we faced real employment challenges at the very point at which the business was growing and we needed to expand the team with the right skills.

“The beauty of the UCP Scheme is that we were able to attract graduates with relevant science degrees and put them through a series of training and development programmes which gave them the skills, knowledge and experience to bring a positive difference to our clients and to TRAC both on the Regulatory Affairs and PIL Readability Testing side of our business,” said Sarah.

“It also means that Cornwall gets to keep very talented and professional people within the county, stopping the ‘brain-drain’ that has for many years seen people leaving the county for the South East and other parts of the UK which have been able to offer them professional development opportunities.

“Through the UCP project we have been able to create a very stable, professional, motivated and growing team and we were delighted to be chosen as ambassadors for the UCP celebration event,” she added.
