TRAC’s WISE Award for Innovation

31st May 2012

TRAC’s Regulatory Affairs Executive, Shilpa Jain was delighted to receive the Individual Award for Innovation at this year’s Cornwall Works WISE Awards.

The awards are an annual celebration recognising excellence in employment and skills activity and highlight the role that the European Social Fund (thorough the Convergence Programme) is playing in employment, skills, training and innovation across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Now in their fifth year, the celebrations took place at the Headland Hotel, Newquay on Wednesday 9th May to coincide with Europe Day, emphasising the important role of European investment across the European Union.

The WISE Awards cover four key areas of Welfare to work, Innovation, Skills and Employers both on an individual and group level.  Shilpa was presented with the individual award for Innovation for her work during her placement with TRAC on the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) programme, which is supported by ESF convergence and places graduates with businesses in Cornwall.

During her placement at TRAC, Shilpa was tasked with creating a bespoke in-house technical induction package that would help educate and support new employees in the first six months of working within regulatory affairs, a specialist and niche function of the drug development process. This has modernised and developed the company’s original training programme.

“I’m delighted that Shilpa has been recognised in this way.  Shilpa’s induction package exceeded our initial expectation and is now a fundamental element of TRAC’s company induction process providing a robust learning structure for TRAC’s new employees,” said company director Sarah Trethowan
