Truro College - South West League Champions!

Truro College Mens First football team, sponsored by TRAC, have won the South West league after losing only 1 of the 18 matches they have played!

As South West league champions they qualified to play in the national league semi-finals against Tresham College from Northampton.  The match was played at Truro’s home ground on the 27th April where they won by an impressive 4-0.  TRAC’s Marketing Manager Natalie Grogan watched the game and said “The team played fantastic, they truly deserved the result.  It was impressive to see how well the team supported each other throughout the game and the impact this had on their performance.” 

Truro College now play in the final at Doncaster’s Keepmoat Stadium on the 4th May against Huntingdon.  They’re hoping for a win this year after losing to the same team in the final last year. 

The team are looking to make it a treble, having also made it to the BCS (British Colleges Sport) National Cup Semi-finals.  If they win against TCAT College from Telford on the 6th May they will then go on to play Huntingdon again in the final on the 11th May.  “It’s an exciting finish to the season, the team have worked very hard and deserve this recognition and success” said Mike Vanes, Head of Football at the college.
